The Streamline® Story
Streamline™ is a family-owned business. Started by brothers Richard and Mike in 2005 the company has gone from strength to strength based on the simple philosophy of putting the customer first.
Having grown up in Somerset West, South Africa – Richard and Mike worked in a family business there too, where they learned some fundamental business principles. It wasn’t long after moving to the UK that they were both longing for something they could call their own.
Working in Plymouth at the time, their chance came in November 2005 when they were given the opportunity to hive off the high reach window cleaning section from a janitorial business they worked in.
The brand Streamline™ was born.
Starting off in a rented building of 800 square feet (pictured on the right) and with limited capital, they quickly gained a reputation from their ‘can do’ attitude to be able to provide solutions for window cleaners, based on the then new cleaning methods – high reach window cleaning.
Within 18 months they had outgrown the 800 square foot Plymouth facility and were on the lookout for larger premises. A 6,000-foot unit became available in Heathfield, Newton Abbot. This provided the opportunity for Streamline™ to go to the next level and was home to the brand for 8 years. Streamline™ then decided it was time to move into a 22,000-foot facility in Heathfield.
As the Streamline™ brand grew, so did the Streamline™ team, with the second generation joining by default. Streamline™ realised that in order for the brand to develop, we needed to be able to assist our clients no matter where they were. Streamline™ decided it was time to open warehouses in France and Germany to continue supporting clients throughout the UK, Europe, the Middle East and beyond.

How it works
The system works by passing tap water through reverse osmosis and / or de-mineralising resin filters removing limestone, heavy metals, nitrates, chlorine, etc. all of which are normally found in tap water, thus producing pure water.
This pure water naturally wants to return to its impure state, absorbing dirt particles efficiently. When used in cleaning methods the pure water absorbs and removes dirt, without the use of chemicals, and dries leaving a streak-free finish.

Window cleaning has evolved over the years from a cleaner with a chamois leather and bucket, to T-bar and rubber squeegee… and finally to specially designed water filtration systems and high reach telescopic poles.
Thanks to Streamline™, this latest technology allows the cleaner to operate safely from the ground without the need for using potentially dangerous ladders and other elevated platforms or lifting equipment.
Superior and safer cleaning
Not only does the operator work safely from the ground, but they are able to do a superior clean compared with the old traditional methods. The end result is, at least, as good as, if not better, than when done in the old traditional way. Furthermore, using pure water prevents the glass from re-soiling so quickly. This is due to the fact that the system uses filtered, de-ionised water rather than a soapy detergent. The detergent, once dried, leaves a sticky film or residue on the glass, thus attracting dust and other dirt too. Using pure water, the surface is left wet and dries without leaving any residue.
Window frames can be easily cleaned to leave an impressive finish; not only clean glass but clean frames too. Using heated water, thanks to the Streamline™ Heatwave, troublesome fly and spider spots, snail trails, bird’s muck and other heavy soil can easily be removed, leaving a gleaming finish.
No more “impossible to reach” windows
No more ‘impossible to reach’ windows above the conservatory, thanks to the the latest range of carbon fibre telescopic poles which are able to reach as high as 72inch. Now those Velux windows and sky-lights can also be easily cleaned! What about cleaning fascias and gutters too? This can be done easily using the same equipment.
